Installing Skins - A Tutorial for Counter-Strike: Source.

This tutorial explains how to install skins, non just explaining which binder it goes to.
Note: When y'all accomplish your custom folder, you might have to create some folders you don't see. **For Weapon Skins** I am going to testify you how to install the Gangsta Glock which can be establish here

Offset off download the skin
Notice the file has a ".rar" extension. Winzip does not support rar files. Yous must download WinRAR or 7-Cypher in order to access rar files which can be obtained here (WinRAR) or here (seven-Nil).
Once WinRAR/seven-Aught is installed, open up the file.

**Scopes**

If yous only have a materials folder, elevate and drop the materials folder onto the my_custom_skins. (\counter-strike source\cstrike\custom)
The material file is located in root\materials\overlays\scope_lens.vtf

**Shells**

There is also a special folder for the deagle beat out. It is stored in materials\models\v_models\pist_deagle\ and is called bullet.vtf.

**Gloves/Sleeves**

The hands/gloves texture is root\materials\models\weapons\v_models\hands\v_hands.vtf

**Flashlights**

The flashlight file is located in ...\root\materials\effects\ and is called flashlight001.vtf.

**Muzzle Flash**

The cage flash file is located in ...\root\materials\effects\ and is called muzzleflashx.vtf.

Q : My skin turned out to be pinkish and black checkered in the game and I know I installed information technology right! WTF??????
A : In most cases someone didn't submit the file right. I know in some skins (similar the black m134 Vulcan mini gun ) y'all go pink and blackness textures. Fortunately, there is style to fix it!
1) Go to root\materials
2) Correct click the binder weapons and click cut. (Control+X)
three) Now go to root\materials\models\
4) Right click the background of this folder and click paste (Command+V) and select yep to all.
five) Now your peel is stock-still
In other cases the folder that y'all have to move will be somewhere else. The easiest manner to observe out is to open the nix/rar file for the skin, and then explore into the materials folder to see what folders were placed wrong. Q : All I see is a cstrike folder when I open up the pare file!

i really try information technology in css non steam. and i try to read the following methods to install the histrion skin. just the character plow to pinkish and black, i already read FAQ, there is a way, just the problem is there was no custom folder or root folder in cstrike at my Counter Strike Source (Non-Steam) folder. i know information technology was illegal. merely to purchase the games, i dont have money, honestly im poor man. i just want besides have fun with playing games. lamentable.
